Artist Bio
Hi there! Thank you for visiting. I love sharing the arts with others. Creativity to me is something we all have, and once we tap into it, we have found it, a matchless treasure I am a realistic and abstract, self-taught artist in Bergen County, New Jersey. My interest in art began as a child with a love of wildlife and nature. Art was something I did once in a while and it always made me feel good. Work, marriage, four awesome kids kept me busy. Every once in a while I would get creative and wonder why I didn’t give it more attention. In 2015, my garden and chickens lit the fire in me to paint again. I have spent these years exploring acrylic, oil, and mixed media to expand my work.
My subjects come from childhood memories, daily life, and the affection and awe I have for the natural world. In my realistic work, conveying the essence and vibration of the subjects is my aim. I find I grow in awareness as the pieces take shape. I get to know myself and the subject, and relate to each in a new way. In abstract work, I love experimenting with different techniques and textures along with rich colors allowing the subjects to arise from each piece. For me it’s like listening to music. Each time I engage with a piece, I experience the message, thoughts and feelings from which it was created.
My work has been shown with the Catskill Art Society in New York and has been exhibited at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center as well as the Van Der Plas Gallery in Lower East Side New York. In May of 2023, I received an award at the Alfred Thomas Wildlife Visual Art Exhibit in Paramus, NJ. and I display my work locally throughout Bergen County, NJ.
I hope you enjoy these pieces and that they inspire you to explore your creative side too.
